Locked

For reasons I shan't go into here (they're not particularly mysterious or scandalous) I've just friends-locked my entire LJ.

I know a couple of people - Justin and Matt, particularly - who read it and aren't on LJ. If you want to continue, just sign up for a free LJ account and link to my LJ.

May or may not be of use but if people want to read have their own blogs elsewhere, odds are very good that either a)they've already got an OpenID or b) they can set one up in under a minute using their blog domain as their identity, I can do a walkthrough for anyone that wants it.

Then you can friend them, they can read/comment but don't need to sign up for an LJ and their comments all link back to their blog. It's a better system in theory to having separate accounts, it's just not fully there yet...

I've been planning a "how cool is OpenID" post for, oh, years now, but I keep not getting it done. Story of my life really.

Thanks for that - that's handy. The people I'm thinking of don't have blogs of any sort, but I'm sure one or two casual readers might want to use this method.

Is there a simple way of locking all previous posts without going into each one individually? Other than if you are a pro user with paid account? I can't find it.

No, I don't think so. I have a paid account, so was able to do it straight away, but otherwise, I think you have to do it manually.

Hope everything is ok.

Glad I can still read your journal as it's one of the few political things I read that give me hope.

God you can tell I'm in a bad mood!

Things are fine. I'm in a bad mood too - politically speaking!
